Job summary

Elix Sourcing Solutions in Tetbury is seeking a Quality Manager to lead a small QA team and own the QMS. You will read engineering drawings, drive ISO 9001/ISO 14001 compliance, and champion zero-defect manufacturing on the shop floor.

Reporting to senior management, you will mentor two quality technicians, conduct root-cause analysis, and collaborate across production to embed a proactive quality culture. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in ISO 9001 environments; ISO 14001 desirable.
• Experience leading a small quality team.
• Previous QA/QE role in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 2 quality technicians.
• Own the QMS and ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement across standards (ISO 9001/ISO 14001).
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to drive zero-defect manufacturing and Right-First-Time across the shop floor.
• Execute root-cause investigations, NCRs, and quality analysis to resolve issues and reduce cost of quality fails.
• Work closely with shop floor, production, and management teams to embed a proactive quality assurance culture.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 2 quality technicians, with full support and training on the leadership side.
• Take full ownership of the QMS, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvement across customer and industry standards (ISO 9001 / ISO 14001).
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to drive zero-defect manufacturing and Right-First-Time (RFT) standards across the shop floor.
• Execute root-cause investigations, NCRs, and quality analysis to resolve customer/supplier issues and reduce the cost of quality fails.
• Work closely with shop floor, production, and management teams to embed a proactive quality assurance culture.

What We're Looking For

• Proven background as a Quality Engineer or QA Specialist in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Essential: Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
• Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 environments (ISO 14001 is highly desirable)
• Ambitious, problem-solving mindset with a desire to step into a leadership role. Prior team management experience is a bonus, but full training will be provided.
