Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in London is seeking a QA Engineer to design and execute manual and automated test cases across functional, regression and integration scenarios. The role involves validating data across ETL pipelines, databases, and reporting layers, while ensuring regulatory compliance and performance testing.

You will collaborate with product owners and developers, maintain test scripts, and contribute to a knowledge repository within a fast-paced SDLC environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in designing and executing test cases across various test phases.
• Strong understanding of transaction flows, compliance logic, and reporting standards.
• Experience with test automation tools and automation frameworks, performance and load testing tools, and defect reporting and management tools.
• Skilled in writing SQL queries to validate data across databases, ETL pipelines, and reporting layers.
• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric workspace and notebooks.
• Experience validating data in relational and non-relational databases, including Cosmos DB.
• Experience validating data in data lakes and lakehouses, including Azure Fabric.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with CI/CD pipelines and sprint-based delivery cycles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Desirable: experience integrating QA workflows with Git, ADO, and other tools when needed.
• Desirable: experience working with data quality tools such as QC/TE
• Desirable: understanding of QA practices in cloud environments.
• Desirable: understanding of financial regulations such as GDPR and SOX.
• Desirable: formal QA certification

Responsibilities

• Design and execute manual and automated test cases to ensure coverage across functional, regression, and integration scenarios.
• Review designed test cases with BA/DEV in a timely manner and begin execution.
• Validate financial calculations, transaction flows, compliance logic, and reporting across various platforms.
• Perform end-to-end data validation across ETL pipelines, databases, and reporting layers.
• Validate system performance through performance and load testing using appropriate tools.
• Develop and maintain test automation scripts using approved tools.
• Ensure systems and data meet regulatory requirements enforced by GDPR, SOX, and other applicable standards through targeted test scenarios and documentation.
• Log, track, triage, and report defects using agreed tools.
• Work collaboratively with product owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into test cases and scenarios.
• Create, maintain, and update documentation and our internal knowledge repository.
