Job summary

A leading renewable energy specialist in Banbury is seeking a Quality Engineer to oversee quality aspects of NPI and prototype manufacture. The role involves project management, governance authority on quality processes, and implementing quality methods for production handover. Ideal candidates will have experience in manufacturing quality environments, preferably within the Automotive industry, and familiarity with business improvement tools.

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a renewable energy specialist, based in Banbury, who are seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team.

Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, your main responsibilities include:

1. Project manage the quality aspects of NPI and Prototype manufacture.
2. Serve as governance authority on quality elements of the NPI process, with a focus on Gateway approvals, engineering drawings, specifications, and Design Quality methods.
3. Implement quality methods for handover to Production.
4. Oversee prototype manufacture and control.

Qualifications / Skills needed

• Proven experience in a manufacturing quality environment, preferably within the Automotive industry.
• Experience with business improvement tools and techniques such as 5S, Lean, Kaizen, and APQP tools.
• Proficiency in problem resolution tools like 8D, 5 Why, Six Sigma, and knowledge of standards such as AS9100, ISO9001, TS16949 (IATF16949), and ISO14001.
• Experience applying quality tools essential for New Production Introduction, including DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and process capability studies is beneficial.
