The Package

• Starting salary of £18,500 per year (increasing to National Minimum/Living wage after 12 months if applicable)
• 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday

What will I be doing as an apprentice?

You’ll work with data—supporting laboratory operations and quality standards. Expect to get hands-on with real-world systems, working alongside experienced colleagues and fellow apprentices. Your work will help ensure safety, compliance, and operational excellence, involving activities such as supporting laboratory data systems, reporting, data analysis, and contributing to quality improvement projects.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the development and maintenance of laboratory management systems.
• Creating clear, insightful data reports for decision-making.
• Using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, and data platforms to manage datasets.
• Investigating data trends to support quality improvements.
• Reporting on data quality metrics.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to improve data flows.
• Participating in training on product testing and standards.

About You

So how does the apprenticeship work?

Over 15 months, you’ll spend at least 6 hours weekly on ‘off the job’ training, including virtual lessons, shadowing, mentoring, and assignments. You’ll earn a salary while gaining a Level 3 Data Driven Professionals apprenticeship, guided by Tiro and experienced mentors.

Eligibility
