Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Manufacturing Key Operative - Quality Controller to perform routine checks on products and packaging for food safety and legality. You will use our systems to record information, ensure traceability, and raise non-conformances to prevent withdrawals.

You will conduct temperature checks, swabbing, weight and size checks, and work in a fast-paced environment while helping protect sales and meet customer requirements. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing and food handling experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be given.
• You will work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and take pride in completing tasks to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Make routine checks on products and packaging for food safety and legality.
• Record information using relevant systems to demonstrate traceability and due diligence.
• Elevate non-conformances to prevent withdrawals or recalls.
• Conduct temperature probing, swabbing, weight and size checks.
• Work in varying temperatures around 8°C and below with full protective clothing.
• Support the team to minimise loss of sales or profit while meeting customer requirements.

More about the role

As a Manufacturing Key Operative - Quality Controller you'll make routine checks on products and packaging to make sure that they're correct from a food safety and legality perspective. You'll use relevant systems to record information and demonstrate traceability and due diligence on behalf of the site and company, and will elevate non-conformances to prevent product withdrawals or recalls.

Your quality checks may involve temperature probing, swabbing, weight and size checks, and you'll be working towards minimising and preventing any loss of sales or profit whilst ensuring customer requirements are continually met.

More about you

Previous manufacturing and food handling experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be given. You'll be the kind of person who:

• Loves working as part of a team
• Enjoys working in a fast paced environment
• Is happy in an active role and has a good level of fitness
• Is able to work in varying temperatures of around 8 degrees and below (we provide full protective clothing)
• Takes pride in completing tasks to the best of your ability

The following experience is desirable, but not essential:

• Quality Control and understanding of product allergens
• Food Safety Level 2 and/or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) Level 2
