Job summary

Tru talent is seeking a Quality Controller / Polisher for a busy Bodyshop in Enfield. The role involves final quality checks, paint correction, polishing and presenting vehicles to a flawless standard before customer collection.

You will work with Paint Technicians and other specialists, maintain quality records, and ensure right-first-time repairs. A full UK driving licence and experience in automotive refinishing are required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Bodyshop or Automotive Refinishing environment.
  • Strong understanding of paint defects and repair processes.
  • Excellent eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality finishes.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out detailed final quality inspections on completed vehicle repairs.
  • Checking vehicles to ensure all repairs meet manufacturer standards and internal quality expectations.
  • Identifying paint defects, imperfections, scratches, swirls, dust inclusions, runs and other cosmetic issues.
  • Carrying out machine polishing and paint correction to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Rectifying minor cosmetic defects before vehicles are signed off.
  • Inspecting paintwork, panels, trims, wheels and vehicle presentation.
  • Ensuring vehicles are completed to a right-first-time standard before release to the customer.
  • Working closely with Paint Technicians, Panel Technicians and MET Technicians to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Carrying out final checks following repairs and detailing.
  • Ensuring repair quality is consistent across all vehicles.
  • Supporting the Bodyshop team with technical advice and guidance where required.
  • Maintaining accurate quality control records and reporting any recurring issues.
  • Ensuring vehicles are clean, presentable and ready for customer collection.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Working efficiently to meet daily productivity and quality targets.

Quality Controller / Polisher

Location:Enfield

Basic Salary: Up to £40,000

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Our client is looking for an experienced Quality Controller / Polisher to join their busy Bodyshop team in Enfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled automotive professional with a strong eye for detail and a passion for producing high-quality, flawless vehicle finishes. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out final quality checks, paint correction, polishing and ensuring vehicles are presented to an exceptional standard before customer collection.

Key Responsibilities - Quality Controller / Polisher:

Skills & Qualifications Required - Quality Controller / Polisher:
  • Previous experience within a Bodyshop, Accident Repair Centre or Automotive Refinishing environment.
  • Proven experience in quality control, vehicle inspection, polishing or paint correction.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle paintwork, refinishing and repair processes.
  • Excellent understanding of paint defects and the processes required to rectify them.
  • Confident using machine polishers and professional paint correction equipment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a genuine passion for quality.
  • Ability to identify defects that may not be immediately visible.
  • Strong knowledge of Bodyshop repair standards and quality procedures.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work closely with technicians and management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced Bodyshop environment.
  • Strong commitment to right-first-time repairs and customer satisfaction.
  • Full, valid UK driving licence.
