Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Quality Control Technician for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Preston. The role focuses on testing and inspection of raw materials, packaging and finished products, with hands-on training provided to develop practical laboratory skills.

You will join a well‑established manufacturer supplying household products to major UK retailers, gaining exposure to FMCG processes and quality data management while collaborating with Quality and Production

Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory work, quality testing, sampling, inspection or similar.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately and consistently.
• Good IT skills and confidence recording information and maintaining accurate records.
• A positive attitude, eagerness to learn and an interest in developing a career within Quality.

Responsibilities

• Conducting product testing, quality checks and sampling activities on materials and finished products.
• Reviewing specifications, test results and supplier documentation to ensure compliance standards are met.
• Recording quality data, highlighting issues and supporting investigations where required.
• Working closely with Quality and Production teams to maintain consistent product standards.
