Job summary

Talentmark are recruiting for a Quality Control Technician at their site in Northampton. This is a permanent role working Sunday to Thursday nights, 10pm–6am, with day-shift training for three months, Monday to Friday 8:30am–5pm.

The role reports to the QC Manager, performing quality control tests to support production and ensuring materials pass specifications. Requires laboratory experience; A level in science preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience is preferred, specifically in a quality role.
• A level qualification in science is preferred.

Responsibilities

Talentmark are recruiting for a Quality Control Technician on behalf of a Specialist Chemicals Company.

This role will be based at their site in Northampton and is a permanent role, working Sunday to Thursday nights, 10pm – 6am. The night shift will commence following the completion of a three month training period which will be on day shift, Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm.

The expected salary for this role will be between £26,000-£30,000 plus a 30% shift premium once night shifts commence.

The Role

Reporting to the QC Manager, your main responsibility will be to support production through performance of quality control tests.

Responsibilities

• Assist production with any queries relating to raw material or production batches.
• Release raw materials and laboratory batches after testing to specification.
• Accurately reading and entering all data onto QC system with due regard for specification.
• Obtain specifications from suppliers for raw materials and enter onto database.
• Liaise with Customer services in the event of delays to batches.
• Previous laboratory experience is preferred, specifically in a quality role.
• Accurate time management and record keeping.
• Excellent sense of smell and eye for detail.
• Flexibility to cover shifts at short notice may be required.
• Ideally A level qualified in science.
