Job Description:

As a Quality Control Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all finished goods conform to food legislation, BRCGS, customer, and quality standards. You will be responsible for controlling the positive release of finished goods based on successful testing of finished products.

Duties include:
  • QC testing of raw materials, intermediate, and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Maintaining testing records and recording deviations.
  • Calibration and verification of laboratory and production equipment.
  • Maintaining certificates of analysis for testing equipment.
  • Identification and control of non-conforming products, ensuring they are held and communicated to the team.
  • Coordination of external microbiological, chemical, and allergen testing, including sample submission and reporting out-of-specification results.
  • Creating accurate certificates of analysis for finished products.
  • Formulation and label checks to ensure accuracy.
  • Regular audits for compliance of products, processes, and personnel.
  • Identifying non-conformance issues and taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitoring plant cleaning and hygiene controls.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is completed and filed.
Required knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Food manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance.
  • Knowledge of hygiene standards and technical standards.
  • HACCP certification.
  • QA auditing experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Computer literacy.
Additional Information:

Location: Hetton-le-Hole

Work hours:

  • Two weeks of days, one week afternoons, one week nights.
  • Days: 7am-3pm
  • Afternoons: 3pm-11pm
  • Nights: 11pm-7am
