Job summary

NMB Minebea UK in Lincoln is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead a 30+ strong QC team, drive world-class quality, safety and delivery, and embed aerospace regulatory compliance across the site.

You will head QA, inspection, and process improvements in a precision engineering environment, ensuring adherence to AS9100, ISO 9001 and NADCAP requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality leadership.

Qualifications

• Engineering discipline apprenticeship or HNC/D required.
• Proven leadership in large QC/QA team.
• Experience in regulated aerospace environment (AS9100, NADCAP) preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Organise the Quality Control function and set clear expectations across QA, inspection, and compliance deliverables.
• Train and upskill the team with targeted gaps analysis.
• Maintain a hands-on leadership presence on the shop floor.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace QMS procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP).
• Drive root-cause analysis using 8D and 5 Why methods.
• Oversee First Article Inspection against AS9102 and ISO14001 environmental procedures.
• Report NCRs, KPIs, and supplier performance to drive continuous improvement.

Quality Control Manager NMB Minebea UK (Lincoln) Are you an experienced Quality professional with strong leadership skills, ready to lead a full Quality Control function and drive world-class standards, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance in a precision engineering environment? Our exclusive client NMB Minebea UK, part of a global manufacturing group with operations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, is renowned for precision engineering and the production of mission-critical components. This Quality Control Manager role is based in Lincoln. You will lead the Quality Control department (30+ engineers and inspectors), ensuring high standards of safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement while embedding a culture of world-class manufacturing and aerospace regulatory compliance across the site.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating strong leadership to organise the Quality Control function, set clear expectations, and ensure every area understands its role in quality assurance, quality control, and compliance deliverables
• Performing training gap analysis across all quality functions and establishing clear strategies to upskill the team
• Maintaining a hands-on, visible presence on the shop floor and across the business
• Ensuring full company compliance with aerospace QMS procedures (ISO 9001, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.)
• Supporting inspectors in driving best-practice inspection methods
• Leading root-cause analysis investigations using proven problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Why
• Ensuring compliance with First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102
• Overseeing company-wide environmental compliance procedures to ISO 14001
• Driving reduction of non-conformances, timely resolution of manufacturing/production issues, and effective continuous improvement through regular reporting on NCRs, KPIs, customer issues, shop-floor deviations/concessions, and supplier performance

You Will Bring

• Essential Apprenticeship, HNC/D (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• Strong leadership capability with a proven track record of improving team performance
• Background in quality assurance and quality control within a highly regulated environment
• Ability to lead a large quality function
• Demonstrable experience resolving manufacturing issues using 8D, 5 Why, and similar methodologies
• Hands-on approach to leadership with a willingness to be visible across all areas
• Very strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
• Inspection and metrology experience
• Competent in all Microsoft packages with strong overall IT skills
• Desirable Degree in an engineering discipline
• Aerospace manufacturing environment experience
• Experience with aerospace standards such as AS9100, AS9102, NADCAP, etc.
• Knowledge of aerospace regulatory compliance (CAA, EASA, FAA)
• Knowledge of machining processes and non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures
