Quality Control Manager

Our client, Wilton Carpets Factory, has dedicated itself to crafting beautiful and durable wool carpets for a broad range of commercial environments without compromise. They are part of the fabric and heritage of the country, using the same site as 300 years ago when they started, and continue to maintain relentless attention to the quality of their products.

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to join their team in Salisbury, Wiltshire. The role involves managing all raw material contracts to ensure they meet standards and are delivered on time. You will also oversee H&S and ISO compliance within the factory, as well as have overall responsibility for production planning.

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage QMS systems and ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
  2. Manage ISO systems within the factory.
  3. Oversee carpets technical and testing certificates.
  4. Chair ISO and H&S meetings.
  5. Recommend solutions to existing processes to reduce waste.
  6. Purchase materials and negotiate raw material contracts, ensuring quality and standards.
  7. Shade matching of yarn and production carpets.
  8. Manage distribution of supplies and monitor inventory levels.
  9. Work with suppliers to identify needs, research vendors, and ensure supply continuity.
  10. Oversee tufting manufacturers on shade matching, quality, and design.
  11. Plan production in line with raw material and resource availability.

The person:

  • Previous experience in a similar role with a technical background; full sector-specific training will be provided.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material control principles.
  • Pro-active team player with strong leadership skills and the ability to develop others.
  • Organized, a natural problem solver, with excellent communication skills.
  • Efficient coordinator with a detailed approach to work.
  • Energetic, dynamic, with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.
