Job summary

Willis Global seeks a Quality Control Inspector for the night shift at our Havering site in Greater London. You will ensure parts and assemblies meet drawing, QMS, and customer requirements, with emphasis on accurate documentation and non-conformity control.

Responsibilities include verifying against drawings, producing FAIRs, and maintaining traceable inspection records while supporting production and quality engineering to uphold aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Proficient with inspection gauges, CMM and drawings.
• Accurate inspection records with full traceability.
• Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Goods inward inspection of finished products is beneficial.
• Knowledge of aerospace quality standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain auditable inspection records and FAIRs.
• Support production with timely first-off verification.
• Prepare inspection reports and SQD documentation.
• Perform inspections across manufacturing and supply chain as needed.

• Escalate quality issues to management and engineering.

Our client, a leader in global aerospace component manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector (Night Shift), to join their quality control department based in Havering, Greater London.

Purpose of the Quality Control Inspector (Night Shift)

As Quality Control Inspector you will ensure that all parts, assemblies, and finished components meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and Quality Management System standards. This role safeguards product compliance through accurate inspection, thorough documentation, and proactive identification of non-conformance across the manufacturing and supply chain process.

Key Responsibilities of the Quality Control Inspector (Night Shift)

• Verify parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings, Quality Management System requirements, and any specific customer standards.
• Ensure inspection records are completed accurately with full, auditable traceability.
• Support Production by carrying out timely batch first-off verification.
• Produce and compile First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
• Perform inspection activities across all areas of manufacturing and the wider supply chain as needed.
• Identify, document, and report non-conformances in line with company procedures.
• Maintain strict adherence to Quality Assurance and HSE policies and procedures at all times.
• Raise and elevate quality issues to production management and quality engineering when required.

To be Considered for the Quality Control Inspector (Night Shift)

• Proficient with inspection gauges, measuring equipment, and CMM operation
• Interpret technical data, drawings, specifications, and FAIR documentation
• Goods inward inspection experience with finished products/components
• Aerospace experience preferred but not essential
• Precision component inspection ensuring drawing compliance
• Knowledge of Imperial/metric geometrical definitions
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
• Apply industry and quality standards
• ERP/MRP systems experience (Javelin preferred) desirable
• MSA, NDT, SPC, and ISO/ASME awareness desirable
