Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd in Welwyn Garden City is recruiting a Quality Control Inspector to perform dimensional inspections on aerospace components, interpret drawings and specs, and record non-conformances. The role operates Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, within a manufacturing environment near Welwyn Garden City.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years in aerospace inspection, be proficient with handheld measuring tools, and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in aerospace inspection environment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings & specifications.
• Experience with handheld measuring equipment and CMM.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical sheets.
• Carry out dimensional inspection of aerospace components.
• Proficient in use of calipers, gauges, micrometers and other handheld devices.
• Record non-conformances descriptively and sign C of C (training provided).
• Complete first article and final inspections according to procedures.

Performance Objectives

Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical sheets. Carry out dimensional inspection of aerospace components. Proficient in the use of handheld measuring devices including callipers, gauges, micrometres etc. Work to set daily targets. Record non-conformances in a descriptive manner. Signing C of C (training provided) Completing first off and final inspection

Person Specification

A minimum of 3 years' experience in an aerospace inspection environment Able to read and interpret engineering drawings & specifications. Use of handheld measuring equipment Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of inspection processes and methodologies Knowledge of CMM Experience of AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports
