Job summary

Acorn Stairlifts UK in Steeton, West Yorkshire, invites applications for a Quality Control Operator to join our Steeton Factory. You will be at the heart of the manufacturing process, ensuring each stairlift component meets our exacting standards.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience with a focus on quality, is thorough, works well in a team, and can read technical drawings. An FLT licence is advantageous; induction is provided, and we offer healthcare and pension schemes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing role with a focus on quality.
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence is advantageous.
  • Conscientious and thorough person with a proven track record.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Be able to work to an extremely high quality standard.
  • Familiarity with quality tools, jigs, and working from technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of product quality by inspecting all elements and ensuring standards.
  • Carry out measurements with precision tools to tight tolerances.
  • Measuring and recording of incoming parts from suppliers and outgoing products.
  • Complete detailed worksheets, participate in regular audits, and generate quality reports with high accuracy.
  • Communicate critical quality-related information clearly across all levels of the organization.
  • Compile and record information/data using quality control check sheets and flag out-of-control processes.

We are currently looking for aQuality ControlOperatorto join our Steeton Factory based at our Head Office in West Yorkshire, UK.


As a Quality Control Operator, you’ll be at the heart of our manufacturing process, ensuring every stairlift component meets the highest standards set by our Quality Control Manager. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and precision are key.


Hourly Rate:£13.05P/H


Type of Contract:Full Time, Permanent


Working Hours:Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities


  • Take full ownership of product quality by meticulously inspecting all elements, including bends, carriages, and performing necessary chemical checks to ensure compliance with standards.

  • To carry out measurements with precision tools, working to small tolerances

  • Measuring and recording of incoming parts from suppliers and outgoing products

  • Complete detailed work sheets, participate in regular audits, and generate quality reports with a high level of accuracy.

  • Effectively communicate critical quality-related information across all levels of the organization, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and relevance.

  • Compile and record information/data using quality control check sheets, and communicating quickly any out of control processes
