Overview

The Quality Control Inspector plays a key role within the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) team, ensuring adherence to company and project quality standards. This position is responsible for identifying and reporting quality issues, supporting the team in quality‑related decisions, and maintaining compliance throughout all AIT activities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and quality control expertise to the Build / AIT team, consulting specialists as needed.
  • Support technicians in assessing incident severity and making go / no‑go decisions.
  • Advise and assist team leaders on quality‑related matters.
  • Review work instructions for technical accuracy and compliance with quality standards; reject and support correction of errors where necessary.
  • Assess drawings in support of work instruction reviews.
  • Verify quality coverage in work instructions using QVP (and KIP, if applicable); assist in correcting deficiencies.
  • Conduct patrol inspections, including :
    • Documentation and hardware checks
    • Process adherence

  • Cleanliness
  • Tool calibration and control
  • Training record verification
  • Spot checks and process audits as required
  • Ensure technicians are trained in accordance with the skill matrix.
  • Exercise authority to halt work on any build if quality standards are compromised.
  • Assist in managing local non‑conformances and non‑conformance reports (NCRs); raise and follow through on Occurrence Reports (ORs) as needed.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to confirm minor OR dispositions (technical confirmation not typically required).
  • Inspect supplier‑delivered parts and assemblies for compliance.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Proven experience quality control / inspections or related discipline
  • Proven capability and delivery within a manufacturing business
  • Electro / Mechanical / Composite Build Inspector
  • Proven experience within the aerospace or related industries
  • Patrol auditing works instructions and assembly technicians’ activities
  • Occurrence reporting using intranet forms and screens
