Job description

  • Location: Alfreton
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00-16:30 or 9:00-17:30 (flexibility available)
  • Salary: £30,000 per annum
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Blue Arrow are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, family-run business that has been a leader in safety footwear manufacturing for over 30 years. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Assistant to join their team and help uphold the high standards their customers rely on.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform product inspections and due diligence checks to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues, working collaboratively across departments.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed departmental reports and logs.
  • Communicate with factories to address and resolve any product concerns.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team for stock movements related to QC checks and testing.
  • Manage product testing with third-party test houses and assist with in-house lab testing.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised lab environment.
  • Track and report product returns, ensuring timely updates to the returns log.
  • Ensure all products meet regulatory and sustainability requirements.
  • Support the Quality Department in the absence of the Quality and Compliance Manager.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and promote safe working practices.
  • Stay informed on relevant national and international industry regulations.
  • What We're Looking For:
  • Qualification or equivalent experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in liaising with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in standard IT applications and business systems.
