Job summary

SFI Health is seeking a Quality control Advanced Analyst in Wigan to support the QC laboratory in delivering testing in line with current regulatory guidelines. The role covers analyses of samples, stability testing, equipment calibration, and maintaining data integrity.

Ideal candidates hold a science degree with 2–3 years in a regulated lab, experience in pharma or food manufacturing, and a detail‑oriented, proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Degree in a scientific subject (preferably chemistry).
• 2–3 years post-qualification experience in a regulated lab.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environments with GMP/GLP familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical, chemical, and analytical analyses on samples within defined lead times.
• Test stability samples and follow site procedures and schedules.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment before use.
• Prepare paperwork and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices and Data Integrity principles.
• Coordinate external analyses for materials and products as required.
• Write and revise QC SOPs to align with quality standards.

Your new role

As a Quality control Advanced Analyst at SFI Health, Wigan, you will be responsible for supporting the site to ensure the Quality Control laboratory can deliver testing in line with current regulatory guidelines:

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Perform physical/chemical/analytical analyses on samples received within defined lead times.
• Perform testing of stability samples in line with the site schedule and procedures
• Responsible for routine calibration and maintaining laboratory equipment and devices before usage.
• Generate and complete appropriate paperwork for various stages of processing, monitored in compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Adhere to Good laboratory practices and Data Integrity.
• Perform sampling and routine testing of raw materials (including packaging materials), intermediate bulks, and finished products in accordance with GLP/GMP requirements, ensuring strict adherence to Good Documentation Practices and Data Integrity principles.
• Conduct testing of stability samples in line with approved ICH stability programs, reporting any compliance issues. Support the preparation of stability protocols and coordinate stability testing schedules as defined in stability procedures.
• Support the coordination, shipment, and follow‑up of external analytical, microbiological, and chemical testing for raw materials, intermediate bulks, and finished products.
• Write and revise standard QC operating procedures in alignment with organisational quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in a scientific subject, preferably chemistry related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience post qualification experience in a relevant scientific role.
• Experience of working in a highly regulated environment, such as Pharmaceutical or Food manufacturing, and possessing the associated level of attention to detail is essential.

Specific Job Skills

• Knowledge of pharma or food lab environments preferably under GMP environment.
• Experience with general physical and chemical testing, plus HPLC.
• Excellent attention to detail, self-driven, bright, positive and motivated personality
• Experience of interpreting data and writing reports
