Job summary

Tata Chemicals Europe is seeking a proactive Quality Officer to maintain and improve the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external regulations. The role supports the Sodium Bicarbonate plant in Northwich, with travel to other sites as needed and a clean UK driving license required.

You’ll work to drive quality performance, manage KPIs, and collaborate with other sites to ensure consistent quality across products and processes.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with 3 or more years experience working in a Quality role within a regulated environment.
• Experience with QA systems including food/chemical/pharma, and both internal and external audits.
• Knowledge of ISO9001, BRC, GMP and FEMAS; MHRA awareness.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• IT proficient with data input, interpretation and reporting; good with spreadsheets.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Confident working independently and in a team, with HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
• Health and safety knowledge in chemical or pharma environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise and support to line management and employees regarding compliance with quality standards and changes to standards.
• Support deployment of key QMS processes: customer complaints, audits, document control, corrective/preventive actions, management reviews, and QA release of products.
• Collaborate with the Quality Officer and QA Manager to ensure full coverage and support for the business.
• Support management of quality KPIs, systems and processes to report and act on issues and trends.
• Drive improvements across the QMS and lead quality improvement teams and projects.
• Liaise with customers, accreditation bodies and suppliers for TCEL product registrations and satisfaction.
