Job summary

Project Centre, a leading design, engineering and landscape architecture consultancy, is seeking a proactive Business Compliance Officer to support the business across governance, audits and supplier management. You will coordinate QMS activities, audits and reporting, acting as a central point of contact for internal teams and external auditors.

The role focuses on ensuring compliant systems, processes and reporting, with opportunities to drive digital tools and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in a business support, compliance, or governance-focused role.
• Strong organisational skills managing multiple workstreams, deadlines and stakeholders.
• Demonstrable experience supporting audits, compliance frameworks, or quality management systems.
• High level of attention to detail and handling confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication with experience producing reports for senior stakeholders.
• Competent user of Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams and shared document systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring documentation and records remain current and compliant.
• Lead external audits (BSI) as main point of contact and coordinate internal responses.
• Act as main contact for internal Group audits, supporting reviews and evidence gathering.
• Coordinate internal project inspections, scheduling, inspections, reporting to SLT and escalating issues.
• Manage third-party supplier processes, including certificates, supplier communications, and approvals.
• Support reporting on third-party spend profiles to identify efficiency opportunities or negotiate terms.
• Coordinate SourceDogg meetings and draft supplier questionnaires.
• Procure project-related items and PPE in liaison with Health & Safety Manager and ensure timely delivery.
• Identify and mitigate governance, operational and financial risks and ensure robust compliance.
• Champion sustainability and social value initiatives across the business.
