Job summary

Tarmac Trading Limited is looking for a Laboratory Manager to lead all laboratory activities, ensuring accurate testing, certification, and compliance across the Specialist Products operation. The role focuses on safety, quality, and customer-focused testing outcomes.

You will manage a laboratory team, drive continuous improvement, coordinate audits, and support production and commercial teams to reduce waste and enhance product performance through data-driven quality control and process

Qualifications

• Must possess a degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in accredited laboratory environments with quality control and testing procedures.
• Knowledge of health, safety, quality, and environmental standards in manufacturing.
• Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and managing laboratory teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, accurate, and timely testing of products and reporting laboratory results.
• Ensure finished products meet specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
• Manage laboratory audits, calibration schedules and quality procedures.
• Develop and manage a high-performing laboratory team with training and performance management.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing processes, lab efficiency, and quality performance.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure fit-for-purpose operation.
