Job summary

Nature's Way Foods is seeking a Quality Auditor in Chichester to uphold product safety and quality, ensuring GMP-compliant processes and customer specs are met. You will audit, investigate non-conformances, and drive continuous improvements across manufacturing lines.

The role requires food industry QA experience, HACCP and 2-level food safety knowledge, with strong communication and documentation skills. Competitive salary with annual profit-share bonus and comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• QA or similar experience in the food industry, ideally with short shelf-life products.
• Food safety Level 2 certification.
• HACCP knowledge.
• Basic microbiology understanding.
• Familiarity with GMP and food safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain product quality and safety standards, ensuring customer specs and GMP compliance.
• Keep factories audit-ready with strict GMP standards across site.
• Conduct scheduled audits of safety, legality and GMP.
• Document checks on manufacture and packing, ensure correct completion.
• Perform process validation and verification per schedule.
• Monitor production lines and report quality issues.
• Conduct sampling, tests, swabbing, and logging samples.
• Investigate non-conformances using root cause analysis.
• Prepare and file paperwork for lines and mixing room.
• Run daily quality assessments and provide feedback to ops teams.
• Control On Hold and non-conforming products.
• Carry out pest control checks as required.
• Complete specified projects.

Overview

Quality Auditor | Up to £29,350 base salary | Annual Profit Share Bonus | Chichester

Reporting into the QA Manager you will be responsible for Product Food Safety and Quality, systems, processes, procedures & GMP to ensure they comply with the set internal and customer requirements and specification, including auditing and closure of non-conformances

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that the product quality & safety standards are maintained at all times and that the product that is manufactured meets the customer's specification and is legally compliant in all aspects
• Ensure that our factories are audit ready at all times and the strict GMP standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing site.
• Conduct scheduled auditing of safety, legality and GMP standards of the site.
• Carry out regular documented checks on all areas and lines of manufacture and packing, including paperwork checks to ensure correct completion.
• Carry out validation and verification of processes according to schedule.
• Monitor lines during production and report any issues in relation to quality or product safety.
• Carry out sampling, checks, tests, swabbing and other conformance requirements according to required schedules, including logging of samples into laboratory system.
• Conduct documented investigations and close out non-conformances, using Root Cause Analysis.
• Complete records and logs for all activities according to procedure.
• Prepare, audit and file paperwork for lines & mixing room.
• Set up and conduct daily quality assessments, including feedback and trending for operational teams.
• Control & documentation of On Hold and other non-conforming products.
• Pest control checks where required.
• Carry out specified projects

You will have

• QA or similar experience working within the food industry, ideally experience in short shelf-life products.
• Food safety Level 2
• HACCP
• Basic understanding of Microbiology
• Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and Food Safety compliance
• Working knowledge of auditing techniques
• Computer literacy, good oral and written communication skills
