Job summary

PrepWorld Ltd in Northfleet, Kent, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technologist (Nights) to ensure products and production processes meet food safety, legality, authenticity and quality requirements at every stage of manufacturing.

Key duties include monitoring CCPs, GMP checks, daily QA tasks, recording traceability, supporting the Print Room and Taste Panels, and reporting concerns to QA Supervisors or the Customer Technical Team.

Qualifications

  • Able to read and write in English.
  • Experience in a High Care Food Industry environment is preferred.
  • Experience with fresh produce is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and uphold all food safety, quality, and legal requirements.
  • Assess the quality of fruit throughout production to ensure specs are met.
  • Verify CCPs to ensure critical limits are consistently met.
  • Carry out daily checks on factory processes and GMP compliance.
  • Complete QA paperwork to record daily tasks, checks and audits.
  • Maintain understanding of policies and challenge non-conformance when needed.
  • Identify and report quality, food safety, or compliance concerns to QA Supervisors or Customer Technical Team.
  • Create new programmes in metal detectors and check weighers; troubleshoot issues.
  • Conduct internal audits (CCP, GMP, Fabrication, Glass and Hard Plastic, etc.).
  • Collect and register product samples for microbiological testing.
  • Follow sampling plans to take swabs, air plates and water samples.
  • Follow all personal hygiene practices and report non-conformance.
  • Maintain an organised, tidy working environment in the Technical Office and production areas.
  • Retrieve and collate documentation to support traceability requests.
  • Support Print Room operations as required.
  • Conduct daily Taste Panels, supporting the Taste Panel Coordinator.
  • Identify improvements and work proactively to implement them.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer-focused approach in all activities.
  • Provide support to the wider Technical Team when needed.

  • Location: Northfleet, Kent, United Kingdom

The Quality Assurance Technologist (Nights)is responsible for ensuring that all products and production processes comply with food safety, legality, authenticity, and quality requirements at every stage of the manufacturing process.

Main Duties

  • Monitor and uphold all food safety, quality, and legal requirements.
  • Assess the quality of fruit throughout the production process to ensure compliance with internal and customer specifications.
  • Verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) to ensure all critical limits are consistently met.
  • Carry out daily checks on factory processes and procedures to ensure compliance and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Complete all QA paperwork accurately and consistently to record daily tasks, checks, and audits.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of company policies and procedures to support compliance and challenge non‑conformance where required.
  • Identify and report any quality, food safety, or compliance concerns to QA Supervisors or the Customer Technical Team for prompt resolution.
  • Create new programmes in metal detectors and check weighers, and troubleshoot any issues during production.
  • Conduct detailed internal audits, including CCP, GMP, Fabrication, Glass and Hard Plastic, and other required assessments.
  • Collect and register product samples for microbiological testing.

  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • (Preferable) Experience working in a High Care Food Industry environment.

(17:30 to 05:30or shift pattern as applicable)
Pay
Starting at £13.06per hour (plus £0.50 per hour nightshift allowance), paid weekly. Rising to £13.80per hour after full training, (plus £0.50 per hour nightshift allowance).
