Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Level 3.
  • Experience conducting Retailer/industry and internal audits.

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 09:00-17:00

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that both company and customer quality standards for products, food safety, and hygiene are consistently achieved and maintained. This position requires collaboration with the Site Technical Manager and production team to uphold technical and quality standards, while also leading the Quality Assurance team in implementing procedural compliance and continuous improvement initiatives. An engaging and proactive approach to product quality will be fundamental to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the monitoring of product quality and hygiene standards across the packing centre
  • Manage and provide appropriate support, training and resources for the QA team, taking into consideration risk assessments, quality standards and health and safety
  • Ensure the operational process and production of finished goods are appropriately controlled, via HACCP, to ensure compliance with food safety and customer standards
  • To be fully involved in all technical external audits, leading Lion Code, RSPCA, and Organic audits
  • Manage the document control system on site to ensure all records are the current versions and correctly completed
  • Trend site non-conformances with customer and company standards (product quality, packaging, food safety, hygiene, documentation, traceability, best practice, and dress code)
  • Assist with the close out all customer audit non-conformances within defined timescale, providing full root cause analysis
  • Investigate customer complaints, retailer non-conformances, and Defra downgrades, ensuring timely response and corrective actions put in place
  • Assist in site traceability and recalls, ensuring sufficient people are trained on site
  • Monitor and trend pest management on site
  • Conduct periodic audits in line with planned assessments, ensuring internal audit system is maintained
  • Manage the site QA’s, including personal development reviews (PDR’s) and development of the team
  • Drive Quality Culture with the site management team.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a QA Manager or QA Team Leader in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Level 3
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience conducting Retailer/industry and internal audits
  • Ability to provide effective training and support to the QA team
  • Experience managing quality documentation and driving continual improvements
  • Capacity to lead external audits and manage compliance with food safety standards
  • Demonstrated capability to address customer complaints and non-conformances efficiently
