Qualifications

  • CTC clearance is desirable; candidates must be willing to undergo clearance.

Contract type: Permanent

Role Details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team at Torness Nuclear Power Station. This permanent position offers a chance to play a key role in ensuring world-class quality and safety standards within a dynamic and high-profile nuclear environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote a strong safety culture by leading by example and ensuring full compliance with HSEQ standards and legislation
  • Apply relevant engineering specifications to support safe, effective project delivery
  • Develop and manage Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Plans (QPs) in line with project and client requirements
  • Maintain and implement the Altrad Integrated Management System (AIMS) on site
  • Conduct internal and external audits to monitor quality compliance and drive continuous improvement
  • Manage Life Time Records (LTRs) including coordination, checking and timely submission
  • Liaise with project managers to support documentation, inspections and handover processes
  • Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance through audits and assessments
  • Maintain accurate HSEQ and quality documentation throughout project lifecycle
  • Contribute to achieving SMART business objectives and agreed Quality KPIs
  • Support Lessons Learned (LFE) sessions and implement feedback into future practices

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Demonstrable QA/QC experience within engineering or nuclear environments
  • May possess several types of qualifications ranging from the Diploma, Associate and Degree level that may include:
  • CQI Certificate or Bachelor’s Degree in Quality/HNC Engineering desirable.
  • NVQ Qualification in Nuclear/Engineering related area.
  • IRCA approved ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business process mapping
  • Strong auditing skills with the ability to lead and influence a team effectively
  • CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) clearance is desirable; candidates must be willing to undergo the clearance process if not already in place
