Job summary

Urenco Global in the United Kingdom is seeking a Lead Quality Assurance & Compliance to drive QA across complex projects in the nuclear/energy sector.

You will lead a team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors, ensure regulatory compliance, implement metrics and QMS improvements, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Technical background in electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, or related discipline.
• Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Lead Auditor qualification (IRCA/CQI) desirable.
• Experience leading QA programmes in technical or nuclear environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance and quality control activities across multiple projects.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support Licence Condition compliance audits and corrective action activities where applicable.
• Promote quality and safety awareness across projects, fostering a "Right First Time" culture.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Quality Control Inspectors.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure effective team performance.
• Create a collaborative and positive working environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
• Report on team performance and project quality activities to senior stakeholders.
• Implement quality metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor project performance and compliance.
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical documentation, providing quality-focused feedback and recommendations.
• Review supplier and contractor documentation to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the UTD Quality Framework.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Integrated Quality Management System procedures, instructions, and processes.
• Promote the consistent application of quality standards and best practices across projects and functions.
