Job summary

Amentum’s Chemistry and Radioanalytical Solutions is hiring a part-time Quality Assistant based in Birchwood, Warrington to support the Technical Quality Manager and maintain the QMS.

The role involves assisting with UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 compliance, internal audits, documentation, and safety activities, with 24 hours per week across three 8-hour days or four 6-hour days.

You will collaborate across teams to drive quality improvements and ensure a safe, compliant laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate or secondary qualifications in chemistry or other scientific discipline.
• Good interpersonal skills.

• Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• UKAS Accreditation and ISO/IEC 17025: Support the TQM in maintaining the laboratory's UKAS accreditation and ongoing compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
• UKAS Assessments: Assist with preparation for UKAS surveillance visits, reassessments and extension-to-scope assessments.
• Quality Documentation: Assist with the maintenance, review and updating of Quality Management System documentation.
• Internal Auditing: Perform and support scheduled internal audits in accordance with the laboratory internal audit programme.
• Quality Control Monitoring: Assist with the routine monitoring of analytical QC charts.
• Non-Conformance Investigations: Support the TQM and relevant laboratory personnel with the investigation of non-conformances.
• Safety Walkdowns: Undertake routine laboratory safety walkdowns, identifying and recording potential hazards.
• SafeUp: Raise SafeUp reports where safety observations are identified.
• Continuous Improvement: Support the identification and implementation of improvements to laboratory processes.
