Job summary

Glasgow Kelvin College seeks a Quality & Compliance Manager to lead cross‑college implementation of QA frameworks, ensuring teams adopt required processes and maintain high standards across curriculum, assessment and external scrutiny.

Reporting to the Head of Enhancement & Assurance, you will guide audits, monitor compliance, analyze evidence, and drive improvements while delivering training and maintaining the College Quality Handbook. Hybrid working and pension benefits are available.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of quality assurance and compliance processes within further or higher education, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with awarding bodies and verification processes.
  • Experience supporting internal verification, assessment quality processes, or curriculum quality activities.

Responsibilities

  • Leading internal quality audits and compliance checks across curriculum areas.
  • Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of the College’s Quality Enhancement Framework.
  • Monitoring compliance with internal quality processes and awarding body requirements.
  • Identifying risks and ensuring appropriate actions and improvement plans are implemented.
  • Supporting preparations for external quality reviews, verification and scrutiny activity.
  • Analysing quality assurance evidence, learner feedback and performance information to identify areas for improvement.
  • Working closely with Curriculum Managers and Senior Curriculum Managers to support consistent quality standards.
  • Delivering training, briefings and guidance to staff on quality processes, internal verification and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the College Quality Handbook and associated quality documentation.

Job description

Quality and Compliance Manager

Glasgow Kelvin College is seeking Quality & Compliance Manager to play a key role in maintaining and enhancing robust quality assurance and compliance processes across the College.

Reporting to the Head of Enhancement & Assurance, you will lead cross‑college operational implementation of the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework, ensuring curriculum teams understand, adopt, and consistently apply required processes. You will work collaboratively with managers and staff across the College, providing support and constructive challenge to identify risks, address areas of non-compliance and drive continuous improvement.

The role will involve supporting the College’s preparation for external scrutiny and review, including TQER, Education Scotland reviews and awarding body verification. You will also work with a range of quality assurance evidence and data to identify trends, monitor improvement actions and provide clear, evidence based reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Knowledge:

Demonstrable knowledge of:

  • Quality assurance and compliance processes within further or higher education, or other regulated environments.
  • Awarding body requirements, including Qualifications Scotland verification processes.
  • External quality frameworks such as TQER, TQEF, and Education Scotland reviews.
  • Curriculum, learning, teaching, and assessment processes in educational settings.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to lead quality audits, compliance activities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Strong organisational skills with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and support colleagues.
  • Excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Experience:

  • Experience of quality assurance activities within education or a similarly regulated sector.
  • Experience working with awarding bodies and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting or leading internal verification, assessment quality processes, or curriculum quality activities.
