Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a QTS Teacher for a specialist school in Westbury, supporting pupils aged 11 to 18 with ASD and SEMH needs. The role is full-time, temporary, long-term, starting in September, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and tailored EHCP experiences.

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, maintain excellent classroom and behaviour management, and uphold high expectations while supporting students with EHCPs and SEMH needs.

Qualifications

• QTS / Qualified Teacher Status
• Experience teaching pupils at secondary level
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SEMH needs
• A strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for pupils with EHCPs, primarily ASD/SEMH; maintain clear expectations.
• Support pupil progress and well-being while safeguarding and promoting positive behaviour.
• Maintain structured classroom management and a consistent approach to learning.
• Collaborate with school staff and consultants to ensure smooth placements.

Salary: £145 - £245 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Westbury supporting pupils aged 11 to 18 who have faced challenges within previous educational settings. The school provides small class sizes and a supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to rebuild their confidence, develop positive relationships with learning and recognise their individual strengths.

The school is seeking a QTS Teacher to join them from September on a full-time, TEMPORARY, long-term basis. The successful QTS Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs, primarily supporting students with ASD and SEMH needs while maintaining clear expectations, effective classroom management and a consistent approach to learning.

The successful QTS Teacher will have:

• QTS / Qualified Teacher Status

• Experience teaching pupils at secondary level

• Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SEMH needs

• A strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

• A resilient, patient and adaptable approach to teaching
