Qualified Teacher - Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Are you a Qualified Teacher looking for an exciting and rewarding new challenge in SEN education? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school for autistic children aged 4-19, rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. We're looking for a passionate educator who would enjoy playing an integral part in designing and shaping the school's curriculum.

We offer a better work-life balance with less marking or planning.

What the Role Involves

As part of the Qualified Teaching team, you will support autistic pupils using instruction based on behaviour analysis and positive reinforcement techniques to accelerate learning. You'll work within small class groups or on a 1:1 basis.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Class Teaching: Providing support and teaching based on behaviour analysis to pupils.

  • Curriculum Design: Contributing to the design of an engaging school curriculum, providing differentiated long, medium, and short-term plans.

  • Curriculum Delivery: Designing, planning, and delivering the wider school curriculum, including school-wide activities like topic lessons and themed events.

  • Data Analysis: Collecting, recording, and analysing data to monitor progress and develop support plans.

  • Pupil Development: Interacting and participating with pupils in the development of skills that support their social and emotional well-being.

Training & Career Advancement
  • Fully Funded Training: The opportunity to complete fully funded training and research in behaviour science driven teaching appeals to you. A range of fully funded training pathways are available, including behaviour analysis specific qualifications such as Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT), Board Certified Behaviour Analysis certification (BCBA), and a Masters in High Incidence & Disabilities (worth up to £13,000).

  • Accelerated Career Advancement: This role includes progression to the role of Lead Teacher (QTS) upon successful completion of the 12-week probationary period.

Role Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teaching & Learning Status (QTLS). (Early Careers Teachers (ECT's) must have completed a minimum of 1 year of the supported induction process in a mainstream setting).

  • Teaching experience within the UK school system and an understanding of the National Curriculum in England.

  • An interest in and/or experience of working in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • Confidence working with children who exhibit behaviours that challenge and supporting others with personal/intimate care where required.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Salary & Contract
  • Salary: From £34,398 per annum plus a £1000 Joining Bonus.

  • Contract: Term time Only.

  • Working Hours:

    • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:45am-4:45pm
    • Tuesday: 8:45am-5:30pm
    • Friday: 8:45am-4:30pm
