Qualified Social Worker - Safeguarding

Location: Merseyside

Pay rate: £42 per hour

We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Safeguarding team. The team assesses and works with children and families, intervenes where children need support, and carries out Section 47 Enquiries. You will work directly with children and families, partnering with agencies like police and health to ensure positive outcomes. The service promotes community support and ensures best practice.

Working according to social care legislation, you will support in delivering person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge, you will make assessments and decisions about interventions, establishing relationships with service users and agencies to meet needs. You will strive for positive, sustainable outcomes, supporting children and families to thrive, with a focus on protection and efficiency.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, forward-thinking
  • Experience in Social Services or statutory/voluntary agencies
  • Focus on continuous improvement and high-quality service
  • Excellent mediation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with diverse client groups and multidisciplinary work
  • Knowledge of social work legislation
  • 4+ years qualified
Role Responsibilities:
  • Experience in fostering, safeguarding, and completing assessments
  • Presentation of assessments to fostering panels
  • Conducting viability, kinship, and SGO assessments
  • Knowledge of fostering regulations and standards
  • Ability to meet court deadlines and work with legal teams
  • Assess risks and social care needs, manage caseloads
  • Develop individual care plans promoting dignity and empowerment
  • Support and guide unqualified staff and students
