Job summary

Childbase Partnership is seeking a Qualified Nursery Practitioner for lunch cover at Linmere Day Nursery in Houghton Regis (LU5 7DP). This permanent, part-time role offers 20 hours per week across 52 weeks, with a pattern of 10:00-14:00 Monday to Friday, and an hourly rate of £13.00 to £14.87.

You will be a qualified early years professional, applying EYFS knowledge to planned activities, safeguarding, and teamwork with parents and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • You are a qualified early years professional holding a DfE approved qualification at level 2 or above.
  • Knowledge of child development and EYFS to plan engaging activities.
  • Ability to contribute to observations for the children's learning journeys.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging activities planned by the Key Person to support learning through play.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents.
  • Ensure safeguarding and children's safety and welfare at all times.

About you

You are a qualified early years professional: You hold a DfE approved early years qualification at level 2 or above.

You are passionate about inspiring children: Your knowledge of child development, and ideally your EYFS knowledge, will enable you to implement engaging activities that have been planned by the Key Person to empower children to learn through play and exploration; you will contribute to observations for the children’s learning journeys.

You are an advocate for safeguarding: You will ensure every child feels safe, valued, and happy and their well-being is promoted.

You are collaborative: You enjoy working in partnership with others, and can effectively communicate and build strong and positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
