Job summary

Childbase Partnership Limited is looking for a Nursery Practitioner (Lunch Cover) at Hertford Barns Day Nursery in Cole Green. The role is permanent, offering 25 hours per week with a focus on caring for children aged five and under.

Job description

Join Childbase Partnership and be part of something extraordinary. Role: Nursery Practitioner (Lunch Cover).

Location: Hertford Barns Day Nursery, Cole Green, Hertford, SG14 2NL.

Contract: Permanent – 25 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Working pattern: 10:00‑15:00, Monday‑Friday.

Salary: £12.87‑£15.59 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Care for babies and children aged five and under, supporting their development.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning through play and exploration.
  • Contribute to observations and learning journeys.
  • Ensure effective safeguarding, keeping children safe, valued, and happy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents and children and communicate positively.
Qualifications
  • Experience caring for babies and children up to five years old, ideally in an early years setting.
  • DFE-approved early years qualification at Level 2 or above is advantageous, though not essential.
  • Knowledge of child development and EYFS principles.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding.
