Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two-form-entry primary school in Raynes Park, Merton. The HLTA will support high-quality teaching and learning, deliver targeted interventions, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and assist with SEND, behaviour and classroom management.

Start date September 2026. This is a full-time role with hours 8:15am to 3:45pm, term-time only, and competitive daily pay based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Recognised Level 6 Teaching Assistant or HLTA qualification.
• Experience supporting or leading learning activities in primary education.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions and supporting pupil progress.
• Experience with SEND, ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH.

Responsibilities

• Support high-quality teaching and learning in a primary setting.
• Deliver targeted interventions and provide 1:1 and small‑group support.
• Assist with SEND, behaviour and classroom management.
• Collaborate with class teachers on planning, preparation and assessment.
