Job description

This permanent post is for experienced qualified Emergency Medical Technicians with North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, based in the Barrow and North Cumbria West groups only. The work centres on pre-hospital clinical care and patient transport, covering 999 emergencies, inter-hospital transfers and urgent hospital admissions. Crews or single-staffed responses both feature, with blue-light driving and a 24-hour shift roster. Applicants need an IHCD technician award or AAP qualification plus recent NHS ambulance technician experience, and anyone who applied in the past six months cannot apply.

Checks & eligibility

• Valid UK driving licence with no more than 3 endorsement points (up to 6 in exceptional circumstances)
• Full C1 category licence
• No drink-driving conviction in the last five years, spent or not
• Not a previous applicant in the past six months
