Job summary
Alecto Recruitment is seeking a Qualified Electrician for a Bedford-based role offering a competitive package including a company van, pension, and benefits. The position covers electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding across domestic, commercial and industrial environments within Bedfordshire and surrounding areas.
The ideal candidate will hold City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation, be compliant with 18th Edition regulations, and have strong inspection/testing
Qualifications

- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Desired - City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong testing, inspection and fault-finding experience
- Ability to read and work from technical and construction drawings
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations, maintenance and repair works.
- Undertake inspection, testing and fault-finding of electrical systems.
- Complete EICRs and associated remedial works.
- Read and interpret construction and electrical drawings.
- Install galvanised and PVC containment systems.
- Work on lighting, power, distribution and control systems.

Location: Bedford | Bedfordshire
Our client is a well-established, family-run electrical and mechanical contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, testing and compliance services across the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.
This is a varied position involving electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding works across a wide range of environments, including:
- domestic properties
- schools
- care homes
- commercial premises
- plant rooms etc.
Covering Bedfordshire and surrounding areas.
- Carry out electrical installations, maintenance and repair works.
- Undertake inspection, testing and fault-finding of electrical systems.
- Complete EICRs and associated remedial works.
- Read and interpret construction and electrical drawings.
- Install galvanised and PVC containment systems.
- Work on lighting, power, distribution and control systems.
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Desired - City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)

- Full UK Driving Licence
- £35,000 - £40,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
- 7:30am - 4:00pm (40-hour week, with flexibility required)
