Job summary

The Reynard Surgery is seeking a part-time qualified dispenser for 25.5 hours per week to join our busy practice. The successful candidate will be an active member of a small, friendly multi-disciplinary team. Flexibility to cover sickness and holidays is essential. If you are an experienced dispenser seeking a new opportunity, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

1. Process prescriptions and repeat prescriptions authorized by GPs and prescribing nurses, adhering to good practice principles of the Dispensing Services Quality Scheme.
2. Check all dispensed medicines and appliances against prescriptions, consulting with the doctor if there are doubts about appropriateness, dosage, or labeling.
3. Collect prescription charges and ensure patient declarations on FP10 forms are completed and signed.
4. Process hospital correspondence and dosette boxes.
5. Manage stock ordering and control.
6. Respond to dispensary phone inquiries.
7. Monitor patient exemption statuses.
8. Dispose of unwanted or returned medications.
9. Perform other duties to support the smooth operation of the dispensary and practice, as directed by the dispensary or practice manager.
