Job summary

TPF Recruitment is partnering with a well-established accountancy practice in Epsom to recruit a Qualified Practice Accountant. This varied, hands-on role involves delivering high-quality accountancy and tax services, with optional audit experience.

You will work with a friendly team, handle year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, and support tax compliance and client advisory, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is required.
• Experience preparing accounts and tax compliance is essential.
• Audit experience is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential.
• Excellent client-facing communication is required.
• Experience with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning to completion and provide guidance to juniors.
• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Prepare and submit personal, partnership and corporate tax returns.
• Manage client bookkeeping and reconciliations as needed.
• Advise clients on tax planning and compliance matters.
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide professional guidance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellent client service.

About the Role

This is a varied and hands-on position where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality accountancy and tax services, and, if you have experience, supporting audit engagements. Key responsibilities include:

• Working on audit engagements from planning to completion, and providing support to juniors where necessary
• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
• Preparing and submitting personal, partnership, and corporate tax returns
• Managing client bookkeeping and reconciliations where required
• Advising clients on tax planning and compliance matters
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide professional guidance
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent client service

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional experience

• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
