Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a QTS Tutor to deliver Maths and English to KS2-4 students currently disengaged from mainstream education, in the Bishop Auckland area.

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS qualifications.
• At least 6 months experience working in a UK school.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
• DBS certificate or willingness to process a new application.

QTS Tutor

Prospero Teaching is looking for a QTS Tutor around Bishop Aucklane holding Qualified Teaching Status to deliver Maths and English tuition to KS2-4 students who are currently disengaged from mainstream education.

As a QTS Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupil's education, whilst focusing on engaging them, helping them reintegrate into school. This opportunity is great for an experienced teacher who is looking to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, enjoyable lessons.

Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

POSITION DETAILS

• Location - Bishop Auckland Area
• Position - QTS Tutor
• Start date - September 2026
• Duration / Likely Duration - Until the student finds a suitable school placement
• End date (if applicable) - Ongoing
• Contract type - Temporary
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on your availability
• Rate of pay - up to 30 per hour
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, up to 15 hours per week, per student
