Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a QTS Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages to young people not attending school in Gillingham and the surrounding areas. You will create, plan and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and boost engagement and attainment levels, with support from Prospero Teaching to monitor progression and ensure safeguarding compliance.

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS/PGCE/EYFS or equivalent is required or recognised.
• Minimum 6 months+ experience in a UK school or tutoring environment.
• Safeguarding training updated within the last year is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to pupils not attending school.
• Plan, prepare and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps and boost engagement.
• Re-engage learners and reintroduce structure to their daily routines.
• Monitor progression and coordinate with the Prospero Teaching team to track outcomes.

Prospero Teaching is looking for a QTS Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people that are not attending school.

As an Outreach Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels. This opportunity is great for an experienced teacher who is looking to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, enjoyable lessons.

Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Location - Gillingham, Kent and the surrounding areas
• Position - Outreach Tutor
• Start date - ASAP
• End date (if applicable) - Ongoing
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 25 per hour

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school or tutoring experience
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
