Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education packages for young people not attending school. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons, re-engage learners, and provide structure to daily routines while Prospero Teaching monitors progress and supports effective learning.

This role offers flexible hours and opportunities across Peterborough. Minimum rate of pay is £25 per hour; contract type varies (temporary, part-time or full-time depending on availability),

Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent.
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school.
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupil education.
• Re-engage pupils who have been out of education and provide daily structure.
• Monitor progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

Job description

Prospero Teaching is looking for an Outreach Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people that are not attending school.

As an Outreach Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil’s education and boost engagement and attainment levels. This opportunity is great for an experienced teacher who is looking to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, enjoyable lessons.

Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
