Job summary

HOERBIGER is recruiting a Lead Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) professional to oversee UK, France and Italy operations. The role is based in Cheltenham with approximately 50% of time on site and 50% remote, including some travel to France and Italy.

You will drive standardised QHSE performance, ensure compliance with legislation and ISO standards, and partner with local management to deliver practical guidance, training and continual improvement across three countries.

Qualifications

• QHSE knowledge within ISO-certified manufacturing or engineering settings.
• NEBOSH or IOSH or equivalent qualification (or working towards one).
• Ability to plan an international workload with robust documentation and audit records.
• Strong communication with operational teams, customers, suppliers and auditors.
• Structured problem-solving and risk assessment for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead QHSE performance across UK, France and Italy with consistent standards and proactive improvement culture.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, company policies, ISO standards and industry requirements.
• Be the trusted QHSE partner to local management, providing practical guidance and support.
• Strengthen management systems through risk management, audits, investigations, training and continuous improvement.
• Balance UK site duties with remote support for France/Italy, with some travel.
• Lead internal and external audits and coordinate corrective actions.
• Identify and reduce workplace, environmental and operational risks through inspections and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, quality concerns and supplier/customer claims using root-cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, quality plans and performance measures across three countries.
• Deliver inductions and training to build capability and share best practices across the Group.
