Job Title: QHSE Assistant

We are seeking an individual to join our QHSE team. This role will support the QHSE Manager in leading the site Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with standards such as BRC, A2 permit, and relevant legislation. The team ensures our products meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with QHSE compliance with standards like BRC and A2 permit.
  • Deliver health and safety inductions to new employees.
  • Develop a culture of Safety, Compliance, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Review and improve procedures in line with management standards.
  • Maintain environmental permits and legislative compliance.
  • Keep hazard and risk assessments up to date.
  • Provide QHSE data to management.
  • Participate in audits and ensure readiness.
  • Understand customer quality expectations and record them.
  • Support defect, accident, and environmental impact prevention initiatives.
  • Contribute to QHSE training development.
  • Maintain QHSE performance data.
  • Investigate customer complaints and identify corrective actions.
  • Research and develop QHSE strategies, objectives, and KPIs.
  • Assist in implementing the site Master Plan and Strategy.
  • Support communication on QHSE issues with staff and management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workplace.
Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a QHSE role, preferably in manufacturing, or extensive experience with standards like BRC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Ability to interface at all levels and build a positive QHSE culture.
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Motivated team player.
  • Strong administrative skills.
