This Position reports to:
Local Industry Lead, Paper UK

Represents ABB as a Home Based, Field Service Engineer in the North East of England on customer paper manufacturing facilities.

• As part of the Northern Service Team, provide 24/7 support on site for ABB QCS and DCS equipment.

• After initial ABB product training, be responsible for delivering the Service Agreement scope, including Preventative and Corrective maintenance on ABB QCS/DCS equipment, configuration, calibration, modification, cleaning, and adjustment.

• Participate in a 1-week in 3 on-call rota.

• Develop strong working relationships with customers across production and engineering.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level field and in-house technical support, including out-of-hours support.
  • Fulfill Service Agreement obligations, demonstrated by the use of ABB ServicePro and other reporting tools.
  • Provide application support and software troubleshooting to customers, on site and remotely.
  • Advise clients on maintenance procedures, evolution, site planning, operational methods, process measurement, and control.
  • Travel flexibility across the UK for activities beyond primary areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare and write technical reports for internal and external use.
  • Promote sales of maintenance services and equipment, including spare parts, and advise Sales department of potential sales leads.
  • Assist Sales and Account Management with quotation preparations.
  • Commission equipment in the field as part of the project team.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Degree or HND in Electrical or Measurement & Control Engineering - essential
