Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a QC Inspector for a permanent position in Aberdeen. The role involves conducting meticulous inspections of machined products, reviewing associated documentation, and resolving quality issues collaboratively. Ideal candidates will hold an HNC/HND in a relevant engineering subject, have manufacturing experience, and be familiar with ISO9001 standards. Qualifications

  • Time-served or HNC/HND level in relevant engineering subject.
  • Experience in manufacturing or sub-contracting, especially in Oil and Gas.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001, API Q1 & Q2 standards is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections of machined products accurately.
  • Review documentation for quality inspection.
  • Raise non-conformance and inspection reports.
  • Submit testing results to spreadsheet.
  • Witness pressure tests as per quality plan.
  • Coordinate with departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Liaise with 3rd party inspectors for audits.

Job description

Reed Engineering are working alongside our client who are looking to add an QC Inspector to their team on a permanent basis. You will be based in the south of Aberdeen.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7am - 3pm, Friday 7am - 1pm (weekend overtime available)

Hourly Rate: £18 - £21p/hour, 1.5x OT weekdays and 1st 4 hours on Saturday 2x thereafter, 2x Sunday

Daily Duties
  • Carry out First off, In-process, Final, and NDT inspections of machined products accurately
  • Review documentation supplied with goods that require quality inspection
  • Raising non-conformance and inspection reports for internal and sub-contractor jobs
  • Submit all hardness, non-destructive and drift testing results to spreadsheet
  • Witness pressure tests to verify equipment is being tested in accordance with the quality plan and customer requirements
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve product quality issues
  • Liaise with 3rd party inspectors and participate in internal and external audits as required
Candidate Requirements
  • Time-served or HNC/HND level in relevant engineering subject
  • Background within manufacturing or sub-contracting environment within Oil and Gas industry
  • Experience of ISO9001, API Q1 & Q2
  • Dye penetrant inspection level II or Magnetic particle inspection level II (Desirable)
  • Driving Licence
