Job summary

Cranleigh STEM is seeking a QC Chemist to join our Rugby, Warwickshire site. You will perform QC testing on raw materials and finished products using GC-MS and other analytical methods, ensuring products meet specifications and producing CoAs for documentation.

The role requires a Chemistry degree or equivalent laboratory experience, with practical GC-MS expertise and 2+ years in an industrial QC lab preferred.

QC Chemist

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

We’re working exclusively with an established business within the chemical manufacturing sector to recruit a QC Chemist.

This is a hands-on laboratory role involving analytical testing, quality control and technical support to ensure products meet required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out QC testing of raw materials and finished products using GC-MS and other analytical techniques

• Analyse results and prepare Certificates of Analysis (CoAs)

• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment

• Investigate quality issues and support corrective actions

• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and COSHH

• Work closely with Production and Technical teams to support site operations

About You

• Practical GC-MS experience is essential

• Chemistry degree or equivalent laboratory experience

• Ideally 2+ years' experience within an industrial QC laboratory

• Knowledge of UV-Vis and other analytical techniques

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Experience with solvents and knowledge of REACH, CLP and COSHH would be advantageous
