Job summary

Virgin Active is seeking a QA Tester to join the Digital & Technology Transformation Team in London. The role focuses on testing mobile, web and backend platforms, creating automated tests and ensuring release-ready quality across APIs and integrations.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers and Designers, participating in sprint planning and continuous improvement to deliver reliable, high-quality experiences for members and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience testing mobile, web or backend applications.
• Hands-on experience creating and maintaining automated tests.
• Knowledge of UI, API, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Experience testing APIs, backend services and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, defect management and release testing.
• Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Test new features across mobile apps, APIs, integrations and digital platforms.
• Create and maintain automated tests across UI, API and end-to-end journeys.
• Carry out functional, regression and release testing.
• Identify, record and track defects through to resolution.
• Work with engineers to improve test coverage and release quality.
• Investigate test failures, environment issues and release blockers.
• Support test data, test environments and release-readiness checks.
• Use monitoring and production feedback to identify areas for further testing.
• Contribute to sprint planning, technical discussions and continuous improvement.
