Full Job Description

I’m working with a growing tech team in Cardiff that’s looking for aQA Test Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. They operate ahybrid working model, usually coming into the office twice a week,with Wednesdays being the main team day.

You’ll be joining aclose-knit team of 12, including 6 developers and 2 QA engineers. Thework is varied and interesting, spanning a range of public-facing andinternal systems. These include a digital ledger system that managestax-efficient investments, a bond investment platform for bothindividual and high-net-worth clients, and a fully in-house documentgeneration system used to produce tax letters and othercorrespondence.

In this role, you'll work closely withdevelopers in an Agile environment to ensure appropriate testcoverage, with a focus on automation where it adds real value. Theyuse Playwright and TypeScript for frontend test automation and C# forbackend work. They're also beginning to explore how AI tools cansupport testing and streamline QA processes, so there’s room toinnovate.

They’re looking for someone who has an analyticalmindset, enjoys solving problems, and is always looking for ways toimprove how things are done. You should be confident identifying gapsin quality and suggesting improvements to testing processes. Ideally,you’ll be a mid-level or senior QA with some experience inautomation. That said, you don’t need to be a superstar , if you’renewer to automation but eager to build your skills, they’re happy tosupport your development. There's also plenty of automation work tokeep someone with solid test automation experience busy.

Salary is between £40,000 and £50,000 depending on experience.
