We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Technician to join our team in a fast-paced injection moulding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving product quality, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives, and providing cover for the Office Manager during periods of absence.
Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm with half an hour unpiad break
£13.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance (QA):
- Perform in-process and final product inspections using measurement tools and visual inspection methods.
- Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues.
- Liaise with production teams to ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the process.
- Manage customer quality complaints and contribute to effective resolutions using the NCR and 8D reporting processes.
ISO Compliance:
- Assist in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO : standards.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audit preparations and follow-up actions.
- Maintain controlled documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions and Key Point Diagrams.
- Identify and support CI opportunities across production and office functions.
- Assist in implementing Lean and 5S initiatives.
- Monitor and report quality KPIs to track performance and drive improvements.
Office Management Cover:
- Provide administrative support during the Office Manager’s absence, including handling correspondence, scheduling, and basic functions (e.g., invoicing or supplier communications).
- Ensure smooth office operations and communication.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in a QA role within a manufacturing environment, ideally injection moulding or plastics.
- Familiarity with ISO : QMS requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Prior exposure to Lean/CI tools and methodologies preferred.
- Administrative or office management experience is a plus.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a quality-related role within manufacturing.
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field desirable.
- Internal auditor training or certification in ISO is an advantage.
