QA Technician (Part Time)

Spider is advertising on behalf of a manufacturer of HVAC systems who are looking for a QA Technician to join their team in Ipswich, Suffolk on a part-time, permanent basis.

About The Role

As a QA Technician, you will support inspection activities, analyze production data, and drive manufacturing process improvements. The role involves working 26.25 hours per week, with preferred shifts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:45 pm, including a half-hour lunch. Flexibility on these days can be considered for the right candidate.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of incoming supplier materials and in-process/final products, ensuring compliance through established procedures and technical drawings.
  • Participate in product audits and support PPAP activities for purchased, fabricated, and assembled components.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality concerns, manage non-conforming material returns, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Investigate internal quality issues using structured problem-solving tools, and engage with Engineering, Purchasing, and Production teams to identify root causes.
  • Monitor productivity metrics, prepare detailed quality reports using digital tools, and support quality improvement projects targeting PPM reduction and corrective actions.
About You

You should have at least 1 year of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with dimensional inspection tools and a tech-savvy mindset with strong IT skills for digital reporting and data analysis are essential. You are proactive, detail-oriented, an effective communicator, and capable of working well within a team. A solid understanding of quality systems and methodologies is required. Reliable commuting to the site is also necessary.
