Job summary

Manucomm Recruitment Ltd is seeking a QA Team Leader for a food manufacturing site near Ilminster, Somerset. The role oversees quality assurance activities, drives continuous improvement and leads a small QA team to maintain high standards and compliance with food safety.

The salary is circa £34,000, with a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule. You will work closely with Production and Technical colleagues to ensure products meet specs, investigate any deviations, and support audit readiness across

• Clear communication and strong attention to detail.
• Leadership experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring products meet quality specifications and food safety standards.
• Investigating out-of-specification products and supporting corrective actions.
• Coordinating GMP audits and supporting internal and external audits.
• Monitoring KPIs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the QA team, including absence and holiday cover.
• Working collaboratively with Production to maintain quality and operational efficiency.

We're looking for a proactive QA Team Leader to join our Technical team at our food manufacturing site near Ilminster.

If you have food manufacturing experience, a keen eye for detail and a passion for product quality and food safety, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills and make a real impact.

Working closely with Production and Technical colleagues, you'll help maintain high standards, support audit compliance and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment.

• A flexible, organised approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Team leadership experience is desirable.
• Food Safety, HACCP or Internal Auditing qualifications are an advantage.
